ONE Championship lines up two on-ground events in US for 2025 after moving Atlanta card to Bangkok

ONE Championship has lined up two events in the United States next year, after moving its upcoming Atlanta card to Bangkok because of “partner obligations” in Thailand.
An early schedule for 2025 outlines 12 monthly events to be broadcast on Amazon’s Prime Video service in the United States – including two on-ground events on May 23 and December 5, with locations to be confirmed.
Ten Fight Night events are also preliminarily scheduled for 2025, with seven of them set to be held at Lumpinee Stadium.
Additionally, ONE 170 – the organisation’s next numbered event after the relocated Atlanta card – will be held at Impact Arena in Bangkok on January 24.
Filming for “The Beast In Me”, an “MMA action-drama” film co-starring Russell Crowe, will take place at ONE 170, which was previously announced as being a ONE Friday Fights quarterly “tentpole” card.
The Asia-based martial arts promotion released a statement on Friday confirming ONE 169 would no longer take place at State Farm Arena in the capital of Georgia.
It will instead emanate from Lumpinee Stadium with the same scheduled card – except for Tawanchai’s planned featherweight Muay Thai defence against Jo Nattawut, which has been scrapped due to “injury”. Nattawut suffered a first-round knockout loss to Superbon at ONE Friday Fights 81 on September 27, also staged at Lumpinee.
“ONE made a successful return to the US on September 6 with ONE 168: Denver nearly selling out Ball Arena with a live gate of over US$1.28 million,” the statement read.
“Though the organisation was slated to return to America with ONE 169: Atlanta on November 8, the event will now be moved to Bangkok due to partner obligations in Thailand”
The statement added that fans who bought tickets to ONE 169: Atlanta would receive a full refund via Ticketmaster.
The scheduled ONE 169 main event will see Anatoly Malykhin defend his heavyweight MMA title against Oumar “Reug Reug” Kane.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon is also set to put his flyweight Muay Thai title on the line in a rematch against Jacob Smith.
In a third scheduled title fight, lightweight MMA champion Christian Lee returns after two years out to face Alibeg Rasulov.
All other scheduled fights will remain on the card.
